About

Hi, I'm Jenny

Welcome to Jenny's Dog Service! I live right here in Middleton, MA, and chances are I've probably seen you and your pup around the neighborhood.

I started this business because I know what it's like to worry about your dog while you're at work or away. That's why I'm insured, bonded, and certified in Pet CPR & First Aid. I take your trust seriously. But more than that, I'm just a huge dog person who believes every walk should end with a tired, happy pup and a calmer day for you.

I'll learn your dog's quirks, favorite routes, and whether they're a 'sniff every mailbox' type or a 'let's run' type. No cookie-cutter walks here.

Jenny's Dog Service is a small team of myself and two trained team members. We're all insured, background-checked, and trained in the same safety and care protocols. Certifications and proof of insurance are available to view at our complimentary meet & greet.

Safety first

Weather policy

Your dog's safety is our top priority. When conditions are unsafe (extreme heat, severe cold, thunderstorms, heavy rain, ice, or poor air quality), we may shorten walks, substitute a potty break with indoor playtime, or reschedule. We always communicate any changes with you.

We always communicate any changes with you.

Hot weather
Dogs can overheat quickly, especially breeds with thick coats, short noses, or underlying health conditions. We use extra caution when temperatures are above 80°F, humidity is high, or pavement is too hot to touch comfortably for 7 seconds. Walks may be shortened or modified when temperatures reach 85°F or higher, or the heat index exceeds 90°F. During hot weather, we focus on shaded routes, slower-paced walks, and frequent water breaks.
Cold weather
Some dogs tolerate cold temperatures well, others are more sensitive. We monitor for temperatures below 20°F, wind chills below 10°F, and ice or hazardous footing. Walks may be shortened for small breeds, short-haired dogs, puppies, and senior dogs.
Thunderstorms and lightning
For safety reasons, we do not walk dogs during active thunderstorms, lightning, or severe weather warnings. Instead, we provide a potty break as conditions allow and offer indoor play and companionship.
Heavy rain
Light rain is usually fine, but walks may be shortened or modified during heavy downpours, flooding conditions, or reduced visibility.
Snow and ice
Snow can be enjoyable for many dogs, but walks may be shortened if sidewalks are icy, salt or chemicals are heavily applied, or snow accumulation makes walking difficult.
Poor air quality
On days with wildfire smoke or unhealthy air quality, outdoor time may be limited, especially for senior dogs and dogs with respiratory issues.

Common questions

Frequently asked

Anything we missed? Mention it on the meet & greet form below. We'll cover it when we meet.

What is a meet and greet?
It is a free, no-pressure visit before any walks begin. I come to your home to meet you and your dog, learn their routine and quirks, and answer your questions. If it feels like a good fit, you can book from there.
How much does a dog walk cost?
A 30-minute solo walk is $25 and a 60-minute solo walk is $40. Drop-in visits are $18. Weekly and monthly packages bring the per-walk price down, and there is a small add-on for a second dog in the same household.
What areas do you serve?
I cover six North Shore towns: Middleton, Topsfield, Boxford, West Peabody, North Andover, and North Reading. Middleton is home base. If you are just outside these towns, ask and I will let you know.
Are you insured?
Yes. I am fully insured, bonded, and certified in Pet CPR and First Aid. You are welcome to see proof of insurance and my certifications at the meet and greet.
Do you walk dogs one at a time or in a group?
Every walk is one on one. I do not run pack walks, so your dog gets my full attention the entire time. If you have more than one dog in the same household, I am happy to walk them together.
Can you give my dog medication?
Yes. Giving medication is part of drop-in visits, overnight stays, and cat care at no extra charge. Just walk me through what your dog needs at the meet and greet.
What time do walks happen?
Walks run Monday through Friday in four arrival windows: 8 to 10 AM, 10 AM to 12, 12 to 2 PM, and 2 to 4 PM. You pick a window and your dog gets walked sometime inside it. If you need a specific time, ask and I will do my best.
What if I need to cancel?
I just ask for at least 24 hours notice. Cancellations inside 24 hours are charged the full cost of the visit, since that time was set aside for your dog. True emergencies are handled case by case.
What if my dog is elderly, anxious, or reactive?
That is exactly what one-on-one walks are for. Because it is just me and your dog, I can go at their pace and steer clear of whatever stresses them out. Tell me everything at the meet and greet so I can plan the right kind of walk.
Do you offer overnight care?
Yes. I offer in-home overnight pet sitting at $75 a night so your pet can stay in their own space and routine. Stays longer than one night include two to three drop-in visits, and overnights are booked by phone.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Your dog's safety comes first. In extreme heat, severe cold, thunderstorms, ice, or poor air quality, I may shorten the walk, swap it for a potty break and indoor play, or reschedule. You will always hear from me about any change.
How do I get started?
Start with the get-started form on this site and I will reach out within one business day to set up your free meet and greet. Walks begin once the meet and greet is done and I know your dog.
